Yesterday morning I spent a blissful hour in bed with a glass of wine and a stack of cookbooks. Then my sister-in-law and another college friend came over for lunch and we made tomato soup and roasted butternut squash, and an apple cake that we took over to Central Park and ate on a sunny rock.
Today after church David and I chopped and simmered and made two pots of soup. My creation we call "White Wife Kimchi Jigae," for its slightly unconventional take on a Korean classic. It was pretty tasty though, eaten with rice and an assortment of pickles. His was a vegetable soup, with piece of ham that I will pick out and make him eat when we have it for dinner later this week.
Married life is sweet.
