tear jerker
I picked up a copy of The Calligrapher's Daughter at JFK thinking it might be a fun read en route to Africa. But because it is set in Korea and I was flying thousands of miles away from my Korean husband, anything that vaguely reminded me of home made me tear up.
Kimchi? We eat that together! (sniffle siffle).
Hanbok? I wore one at my wedding! (eyes welling up)
Korean words? We keep saying we'll buy Rosetta Stone and learn! (weeping)
