I'm back in thelandofthefreehomeofthebrave
CBP does give you a mighty patriotic feeling-inspiring video
to watch while in line for your passport to be stamped;
it was almost enough to counteract my revulsion
at the vulgar, ignorant things spewing out
of the mouths of two men in front of me.
Talibs clearly don't have a monopoly on that sort of discourse...
Relishing here: long walks by myself, drinks with friends,
the sunshine on my bare arms and uncovered head,
preparing for our wedding and married life.
But, last night I dreamed of mosaics and silk carpets,
and woke this morning feeling jigar khun.
In English we describe sadness in terms of broken heart.
In Persian it's a bloody liver.
